Family & Children First Council of Columbiana County

Here at the Family and Children First Council (FCFC) of Columbiana County, our commitment is that "no family falls through the cracks.”

We are dedicated to helping families access the resources and services they need to foster strong, healthy, resilient communities. Through our proactive, collaborative approach, we can identify service gaps and create evidence-based programs that address those needs. Our goal is to provide a seamless system of care for all children, youth, and families regardless of their race, ethnicity, or income level.

We are an umbrella organization of local government and community-based agencies working together with families to provide a comprehensive array of services such as: health care, educational support, mental health services, after-school programs, substance abuse treatment, parenting education, and more. We also offer a range of prevention initiatives to ensure that all children and families have access to the supports and resources they need.

We are committed to working with families in a culturally sensitive, strengths-based approach that builds on their unique resources to address the needs they choose to prioritize. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all children and families through collaboration, respect, understanding, trust, and advocacy. We recognize that each child is unique and that their needs, interests, and development vary from one family to the next.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive services to promote the physical and emotional well-being of children, families, and communities. We believe that every child has the right to be safe, healthy, and loved. With this belief in mind, we strive to empower children, families, and communities to actively participate in their own growth and development. We provide individualized care plans tailored to meet the needs of each family while respecting their culture, language, and values.

Our Vision

To promote a community which helps all children fulfil their potential. We recognize and build upon those elements that make a healthy environment for all children: a nurturing, stable and safe environment in which a child's developmental needs are met.
